Quick Summary
Most TiviMate problems are fixed in a few minutes. Movies, series or the TV guide not working? Check that TiviMate Premium is active: they don’t work in the free version. Playlist or channels not loading? Make sure your M3U URL or Xtream Codes server starts with http://, not https://, then update the playlist. Still not working? Restart your router, clear the TiviMate cache on Firestick, and check that your IPTV subscription hasn’t expired.
Good to Know: TiviMate Has No Channels of Its Own
TiviMate is only a player. It doesn’t provide any IPTV channels, playlists or subscriptions, so when channels stop working, the problem is often your playlist or your IPTV provider, not the app.
TiviMate (often written TV Mate) is one of the most stable IPTV players, but a playlist that won’t load, movies and series that don’t show, an empty TV guide or a Firestick that freezes can happen to anyone. This guide explains why TiviMate is not working and how to fix each problem step by step on Firestick, Fire TV, NVIDIA Shield, Android TV and Google TV.
Why Is TiviMate Not Working Today?
If TiviMate worked yesterday and stopped today, the cause is almost always one of these:
- Your IPTV provider’s server is down or under maintenance. Test the same login in another app such as IPTV Smarters. If it fails there too, contact your provider.
- Your IPTV subscription or free trial has expired. Ask your provider.
- The line is in use on another device at the same time.
- Your internet or IP address is blocked: restart your router to get a new IP address.
- TiviMate Premium expired or the device was removed from your account: movies, series and the guide disappear.
- An app update changed something: update TiviMate to the latest version with Downloader code 272483.
Quick Checklist: Try These First
- Check that your internet works in another app (YouTube, Netflix).
- Restart your internet to get a new IP address: unplug your router for 1 minute, plug it back in and wait until the internet is back.
- Close TiviMate completely and open it again.
- Restart your Firestick or TV box: on Firestick, hold Select + Play/Pause for 5 seconds.
- Update the playlist: Settings > Playlists, select your playlist and choose Update playlist.
- Check that your IPTV subscription and TiviMate Premium are still active.
TiviMate Movies and Series (VOD) Not Working
- Free version: movies and series don’t work without TiviMate Premium. Open Settings: if you see Unlock Premium at the top, Premium isn’t active. See how to unlock TiviMate Premium.
- Xtream Codes: open Settings > Playlists, select your playlist and make sure Include VOD is ticked, then update the playlist.
- M3U: your M3U link must include movies and series (usually
type=m3u_plus). Ask your provider for the full link. - Movies show but don’t play: change the player in Settings > Playback, or test the same movie in another app. If it fails everywhere, the problem is on the provider’s side.
TiviMate EPG (TV Guide) Not Working
If the TV guide shows No information for every channel:
- The EPG needs TiviMate Premium.
- Add your provider’s EPG URL in Settings > EPG > EPG sources > Add source (full steps: how to add EPG to TiviMate).
- Select Update EPG, and check Latest update status for errors.
- Assign the EPG source to your playlist in Settings > Playlists.
- Guide one hour off? Set the Time offset in the EPG source settings.
TiviMate Playlist or Channels Not Working
- Check every character of your M3U URL or your Xtream Codes server, username and password. One wrong letter breaks the playlist.
- Xtream Codes not working: the server address must include the port if your provider gave one (for example
http://example.com:8080). Try the M3U link instead, or the reverse. - Update the playlist in Settings > Playlists so new channels appear.
- Some channels work, others don’t: the problem is on the provider’s side. Send them the channel names.
- Live TV not working but VOD works: the live server may be down. Wait or contact your provider.
Playlist Not Working Because the URL Starts With https://
A very common mistake: the M3U URL, the EPG URL or the Xtream Codes server address starts with https://. Most IPTV servers only work with http://. Open Settings > Playlists, select your playlist, edit the URL or server address and change https:// to http:// (unless your provider told you to use https), then update the playlist.
TiviMate Premium Not Working
- Still shows Unlock Premium: log in on the TV with the same TiviMate account you used to subscribe in TiviMate Companion, then select Next and Activate.
- Device limit: one subscription covers 5 devices. Remove an old device in TiviMate Companion or on the TiviMate dashboard.
- Subscription not working after payment: open TiviMate Companion and select Refresh, then check that your Google Play payment went through.
- Login not working: use Forgot password on the login screen.
Full steps: how to unlock TiviMate Premium.
TiviMate Not Working on Firestick
- Clear the cache: on the Fire TV home screen open Settings > Applications and select Clear all Application Caches (screenshots below). To clear only TiviMate, go to Manage Installed Applications > TiviMate > Clear cache.
- Free up storage: uninstall apps you don’t use. A full Firestick can stop TiviMate from loading big playlists.
- Restart: hold Select + Play/Pause for 5 seconds.
- Update TiviMate: open Downloader, enter code 272483 and install the latest version over the old one. Your playlists stay.
- Amazon Fire tablet: TiviMate is made for TV devices and may not work well on Fire tablets. Use IBO Player or IPTV Smarters there.
TiviMate Buffering or Freezing
- Use an Ethernet cable or 5 GHz Wi-Fi. HD needs about 10 Mbps, 4K about 25 Mbps.
- Change the video player or decoder in Settings > Playback.
- Restart the router and the Firestick.
- Clear the cache on Firestick (see above).
- If only some channels buffer, contact your IPTV provider.
TiviMate Not Working With a VPN
Many IPTV servers block VPN IP addresses, so TiviMate shows errors or loads no channels when your VPN is on. The fix is to use your provider’s VPN DNS (VPN server URL) instead of the normal one.
- Find your VPN DNS: it usually comes with your IPTV login details and always starts with vpn (see the example below). If your provider didn’t send one, contact your IPTV provider and ask for the VPN DNS.
- Xtream Codes: open Settings > Playlists, select your playlist and replace the server address with the VPN DNS. Keep the same username and password.
- M3U playlist: edit the playlist URL and replace the server part (before /get.php) with the VPN DNS.
- Do the same for your EPG URL if the guide stops working.
- Update the playlist, then turn your VPN back on: channels load normally.
Example: VPN DNS for Xtream Codes and M3U
VPN DNS: http://vpn.dream-4k.co
Xtream Codes server address: http://vpn.dream-4k.co
M3U URL: http://vpn.dream-4k.co/get.php?username=YOUR_USERNAME&password=YOUR_PASSWORD&type=m3u_plus&output=ts
Still not working? Change the VPN server or country, try another VPN protocol (for example WireGuard), and turn off the VPN’s ad or tracker blocker, which can block IPTV and EPG links.
TiviMate Catch-Up Not Working
- Catch-up needs TiviMate Premium.
- Only channels with a catch-up icon support it: your provider must offer catch-up for that channel.
- Increase Past days to keep EPG in Settings > EPG so past programs appear in the guide.
- Works in IPTV Smarters but not TiviMate? Use the Xtream Codes login rather than M3U, and update the playlist.
TiviMate Search Not Working
- Search only finds channels and titles from playlists that have finished loading: update the playlist first.
- Movies and series appear in search only with Premium and with VOD included in your playlist.
- On Firestick, use the voice button or the on-screen keyboard and wait a second for results.
Still Not Working? Reinstall TiviMate
If nothing above helps, uninstall TiviMate and install it again:
- On Firestick, open Settings > Applications > Manage Installed Applications, select TiviMate and choose Uninstall.
- Restart the Firestick.
- Install TiviMate again with Downloader code 272483 (see how to install TiviMate).
- Add your playlist again (how to activate TiviMate) and log in to your TiviMate account to restore Premium.
Keep Your Login Private
Never post your M3U link, Xtream Codes or EPG URL in comments, forums or support groups when asking for help. Anyone with them can use your subscription.
Frequently Asked Questions
Why is TiviMate not working?
The most common causes are an expired IPTV subscription, a server problem at your provider, a wrong or https:// playlist URL, TiviMate Premium not active (for movies, series and EPG), or a full cache on Firestick.
Why is TiviMate not working today?
Usually your IPTV provider’s server is down, your subscription expired, or your IP is blocked. Restart your router and test the same login in another app. If it fails there too, contact your provider.
Why are movies and series not working in TiviMate?
Movies and series need TiviMate Premium. With Xtream Codes also check that Include VOD is ticked in the playlist settings.
Why is the TiviMate EPG not working?
The EPG needs TiviMate Premium and an EPG source. Add your provider’s EPG URL in Settings > EPG > EPG sources and select Update EPG.
Why is TiviMate not working on Firestick?
Clear the cache in Fire TV Settings > Applications, free up storage, restart the Firestick, and update or reinstall TiviMate with Downloader code 272483.
Why is my TiviMate playlist not working?
Check the URL or Xtream Codes for typos, use http:// instead of https://, include the port in the server address, and update the playlist. If it still fails, your subscription may have expired.
Why are my Xtream Codes not working in TiviMate?
The server address must start with http:// and include the port if your provider gave one. Check the username and password, or try the M3U link instead.
Why is TiviMate Premium not working?
Log in on the TV with the same account you used in TiviMate Companion, check the 5-device limit, and select Refresh in TiviMate Companion after paying.
Does TiviMate work with a VPN?
Yes, if you use your provider’s VPN DNS. Many IPTV servers block VPN IPs, so replace the Xtream Codes server address or the M3U DNS with the VPN DNS from your login details (it starts with vpn, for example http://vpn.dream-4k.co). If you don’t have one, ask your IPTV provider.
Is TiviMate down?
TiviMate itself rarely goes down because the streams come from your IPTV provider. If channels stop for everyone at once, the provider’s server is usually the cause.
Still stuck? Set TiviMate up again step by step: install TiviMate, add your playlist, unlock Premium and add the EPG. Browse all TiviMate guides.
