Quick Summary
To activate BOB Player, open the app, select Change Server and note your Device ID (MAC address) and Device Key. On a phone or computer, open the BOB Player website, click Manage Playlist and log in with them. Then click Add Playlist for an M3U URL or Add XC Playlist for Xtream Codes, save, and select your playlist in the app. It takes about 5 minutes.
Good to Know: Free Activation With Your IPTV Subscription
Every new device gets a 7-day free trial. After that, BOB Player needs a license per device. Most IPTV providers activate it for free with a 6- or 12-month subscription: just contact your provider with your Device ID. BOB Player doesn’t provide any IPTV channels, playlists or subscriptions: you add your own M3U URL or Xtream Codes from your IPTV provider.
BOB Player (also listed as Media Player BOB or BOB TV Player) works like IBO Player: you don’t type your IPTV login on the TV. Instead, you add your playlist on the BOB Player website with your device’s Device ID and Device Key, and the app downloads it. This guide shows both ways to activate BOB Player, with an M3U URL and with Xtream Codes, how to load your channels on the TV, and how the license works after the free trial.
Before You Start: What You Need
- BOB Player installed on your TV, Firestick, Android TV or phone (see how to install BOB Player on any device).
- Your IPTV login from your provider: an M3U URL or Xtream Codes (username, password and host URL).
- A phone or computer with a web browser, to open the BOB Player website.
Adding a Playlist vs Activating the License
“Activating BOB Player” can mean two different things. Most people need the first one right away, and the second one after the free trial:
| Add your playlist | Activate the license | |
|---|---|---|
| What it does | Loads your channels, movies and series | Keeps the app working after the 7-day trial |
| Where | BOB Player website > Manage Playlist | BOB Player website > Activate Device, or your IPTV provider |
| What you need | Device ID, Device Key, M3U URL or Xtream Codes | Device ID (MAC address) |
| Cost | Free | Free with most 6- or 12-month IPTV subscriptions, or a fee per device |
Log In to the BOB Player Website With Your Device ID and Key
Step 1: Select Change Server in BOB Player
Open BOB Player on your TV or device. On the home screen, scroll to Change Server and select it.
Step 2: Note Your Device ID and Device Key
The Playlists screen opens. On the right you see your Device ID (your MAC address, for example 90:11:95:F7:11:F5) and your 6-digit Device Key. Write both down, or take a photo of the screen. New devices also show a Sample playlist on the left: it is only a demo with no channels.
Step 3: Open the BOB Player Website and Click Manage Playlist
On your phone or computer, open your browser and go to the official BOB Player website:
https://bobplayer.comClick Manage Playlist in the top right corner (or the Manage Playlist button on the page).
Step 4: Enter Your MAC Address, Device Key and Captcha, Then Log In
- Mac Address: type your Device ID exactly as shown in the app, with the colons.
- Device Key: type the 6-digit key.
- Captcha: type the characters shown in the image (click Refresh Captcha if you can’t read them).
- Click LOGIN.
You now see the Manage Playlists page with your MAC address and two buttons: Add Playlist (M3U) and Add XC Playlist (Xtream Codes). Choose your method below.
Method 1: Activate BOB Player With an M3U URL
Use this method if your provider gave you an M3U playlist link. It is the quickest way: one link loads everything.
Step 1: Click Add Playlist
On the Manage Playlists page, click Add Playlist.
Step 2: Paste Your M3U URL and Click Save
- Playlist name: write any playlist name, any name you like, for example iptv.co.com.
- Playlist URL (.M3U or .M3u8): paste your full M3U link. It looks like
http://your-provider-url/get.php?username=…&password=…&type=m3u_plus&output=ts - XMLTV EPG URL: optional. Paste your provider’s EPG link (it usually ends in
xmltv.php?username=…&password=…) to get the TV guide. - Protect this playlist: optional. Tick it to hide the playlist behind your Parent PIN.
- Click SAVE.
Step 3: Check That the Playlist Was Added
Your playlist now appears in the list with its name and URL. Use the pencil icon to edit it, or the bin icon to delete it. Then go to Load your playlist on the TV.
Load Your Playlist on the TV
Whichever method you used, go back to BOB Player on your TV or device.
Step 1: Open Change Server and Select Your Playlist
Select Change Server again (or close and reopen the app). Your new playlist, here iptv.co.com, appears on the left. Select it. The label may show Currently Offline until the playlist is loaded: that is normal, just select it.
Step 2: Wait While the Playlist Loads
A Loading, Please Wait… bar appears. Large playlists can take a minute, so don’t close the app.
Step 3: Open Live TV
Your playlist is active. On the home screen, scroll to Live TV and select it. Movies and Series are next to it.
Step 4: Pick a Category and a Channel
Choose a category on the left, then a channel. The preview and the TV guide start on the right; select the channel again to watch in full screen. Long press OK on a channel to add it to your favourites.
Method 2: Activate BOB Player With Xtream Codes
Use this method if your provider gave you a username, password and host URL (Xtream Codes API).
Step 1: Click Add XC Playlist
On the Manage Playlists page, click Add XC Playlist.
Step 2: Enter Your Xtream Codes and Click Save
- Playlist name: write any playlist name, any name you like, for example iptv.co.com.
- Username and Password: copy them from your provider’s email.
- Host: the server URL, starting with
http://and including the port if your provider gave one (for examplehttp://example.com:8080). - XMLTV EPG URL: optional. Leave it empty; with Xtream Codes the TV guide usually loads by itself.
- Click SAVE.
Then go back to BOB Player, select Change Server and select your playlist. It loads exactly like the M3U playlist in the steps above: Live TV, Movies and Series are ready.
BOB Player License: Free Activation and Price
When the 7-day trial ends, BOB Player stops playing until the device is activated. You have two options:
- Free activation from your IPTV provider: most IPTV providers activate BOB Player for free with a 6- or 12-month subscription. Just contact your provider and send them your Device ID (MAC address).
- Buy the license yourself: on the BOB Player website, click Activate Device, enter your MAC address exactly as shown in the app, choose the plan shown on the page and pay. Then restart BOB Player. Your playlists stay as they are.
The license is tied to the device’s MAC address, so each TV or stick needs its own. The current price is shown on the Activate Device page and can change. Prefer a well-known alternative? See how to activate IBO Player, which uses the same Device ID and Device Key system.
Beware of “Free Activation Codes”
There is no official free activation code for BOB Player. Websites and videos offering free codes or “activated” APKs are usually scams or contain malware. Use the free 7-day trial, then get the license from your IPTV provider or the official BOB Player website.
BOB Player Not Activating? Quick Fixes
- Can’t log in on the website: type the MAC address with the colons, check the Device Key again (0 and O look alike), and click Refresh Captcha if the code is rejected.
- Playlist saved but it doesn’t show on the TV: open Change Server again or close and reopen BOB Player.
- Playlist shows “Currently Offline” and won’t load: check your M3U URL or host. Use
http://, nothttps://, unless your provider says otherwise. - Channels don’t load with Xtream Codes: check that the host includes the port, then try the M3U method.
- The app stopped playing after a week: the 7-day trial is over. Ask your IPTV provider to activate it or buy the license under Activate Device.
- No TV guide: add your provider’s XMLTV EPG URL to the playlist.

Keep Your Login Private
Your Device Key, M3U link and Xtream Codes give access to your playlist and subscription. Don’t share them in screenshots, videos or comments.
